THE EXPERIMENT
A maximum amount of $100.00 has been spent to start a new venture for 2010..."Feel Good Felt Kits". To double that money by selling all the kits made, reinvest, double it again...reinvest, etc, etc. A hundred dollars is all I have to afford to the moment, so it's less of an experiment and more of a must-make-work deal. Calling it an experiment makes it seems less detrimental, and more fun. As I write this...I'm moving from the realm of slacker, drifter, gypsy-artist, into the realm of work-at-home-mom (WAHM). All the idle hours, the lack of focus, the care-free, day-to-day gig is out, as is jumping around from one medium to another fulfilling creative whims. I had to find one SIMPLE thing with a good chance of success; something middle-stream, basic, and less involved (time & energy wise). I had a vision, and this is it. The whole site has been revamped to focus on the kits, and that's what I'm doing. With your patronage, and word-of-mouth....this little idea can grow into something purposeful all round.
THE MISSION
The business mission is simple as well....basically to inspire craftiness!
- To helps folks reconnect to their casual-creativity...learn to have fun with it, learn to relax through it, and deepen their sense of self.
- To keep all the kits simple and easy to work with.
- To keep them a romantic, whimsical, and kitschy way to reconnect with your inner-kid.
- To keep them affordable.
- To bring back the simple skill of hand-stitching. A throw-back to a simpler time, before technology took over free-time. To have something fun, and non-complicated to get into.
- To help create just an hour or so of healthy, creative, escape...where the outside world fades away and one can lose themselves in something that has no purpose, other than 'freedom to be themselves'. Not about the outcome, not with any point. Just time for ourselves and our imagination.
Keeping that creative-connection alive is vital to everything we are!
So, on one hand these are just little silly little kits. On the other hand they're magical tools for channeling your love to yourself, and to very special people you adore! While helping a groovy sister make a living!
